We work closely together with our parent institute Fraunhofer Institute
for Material and Beam Technology (IWS) located in Dresden, Germany.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology offers application-oriented
research and development in the area of laser and surface technology.
Our technical focal points are:
- laser beam joining, cutting and ablation processes
- surface treatment
- thin film coatings.
A speciality of the Fraunhofer IWS is the development of hybrid processes
- a combination of beam technologies with alternative processes. This
approach allows the development of especially efficient and cost effective
processes.
